It's an Artrage!

Kite

Don't blame me for the horrible title, it was practically inevitable. I got this free program called ArtRage a while back, and until now I haven't done much with it. But now I have done something, so... yay!

The premise of ArtRage is that it tries as hard as it can to be just like real painting. Even the texture of your brushes, and mixing of paints. It's hard to explain how much like painting it feels, you should just try it out yourself.
The only difference from real painting is that you can undo lots (hooray!), and it crashes lots (boo!). So remember to save often (but don't press ctrl + s, that sometimes crashes it ;)).

Generally I'm a technology guy - I like to utilise Photoshop's layers, blending modes, alpha maps, all that fun stuff. But there's something cool about painting in much the way as real painters do, and it gives quite a rough and authentic feel to the end product, which is nice. It also stops you from being a perfectionist, which can be a good thing...
